OCT Guidance in Bifurcation Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

نویسندگان

چکیده

Coronary bifurcation is defined by the European Bifurcation Consensus as a coronary artery stenosis adjacent to origin of significant side branch. Its anatomy composed 3 different segments: proximal main vessel, distal vessel and lesions are encountered in approximately 15–20% all percutaneous interventions constitute complex subgroup characterized lower procedural success rates higher adverse outcomes. In recent years, growing focus Japanese club meetings has been emerging role intravascular imaging, guiding successful (PCI). this review we will present ways optical coherence tomography (OCT) can be used improve outcomes during PCI.

Percutaneous coronary intervention of bifurcation coronary disease.

Bifurcation coronary artery disease is a frequent problem faced by interventional cardiologists and it affects approximately 15-20% of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The application of drug-eluting stents (DES) technology to prevent restenosis after PCI represents one of the success stories in cardiology, but DES have not resolved the bifurcation PCI challenge. Bi...

Update on disease: percutaneous coronary intervention of bifurcation lesions

Coronary artery bifurcation lesions pose a particular challenge in the field of interventional cardiology. Bifurcation interventions are associated with a higher rate of shortand long-term complications, with restenosis at the ostium of the side branch remaining the biggest problem. Currently, stenting the main branch with provisional side branch stenting is the prevailing approach. However, th...

Dynamic changes in purine catabolism in patients with acute coronary syndrome that underwent percutaneous coronary intervention

Background: Cardiovascular diseases are global problems. They are causes of death in about 43% of people worldwide and may become the most widespread reason of death by 2020. The prognosis is directly dependent to immediate diagnosis and on time treatment. Introduction of new biochemical markers as the early diagnosis of complications after coronary revascularization is very important in this p...

Coronary Artery Bifurcation Lesions: a Review of Contemporary Techniques in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

Percutaneous intervention of coronary bifurcation lesions continues to challenge interventional cardiologists. Nonetheless, the past decade has seen an explosion in the development of clinical novel techniques and well-conducted trials validating the relative efficacy and safety of these techniques. For the most part, consensus has emerged regarding the preferred technique, that being provision...
